Qualifications to Volunteer

To serve as a Volunteer with Camp Happy Days, you must be at least 19 years of age or older. All new volunteers must complete:

Brief phone interview with Camp Happy Days Staff to get to know you, your interests, and discuss best fit for you as a volunteer
Clean SLED South Carolina Background Check
Child Abuse Prevention Training via Darkness to Light (Training costs covered by CHD)

Camp Happy Days offers a variety of volunteer opportunities throughout the year. Learn more about the specific ways you can get involved below!

01 Day Programs Volunteer

Our day programs are a great and easy way for any volunteer who is hoping to gain experience working with children and families facing pediatric cancer. We host a variety of day programs throughout the year.

Some examples of these programs include Doodlebug Events (Ages 0-9), Pre-teen Events (Ages 10-12), Family Events such as Childhood Cancer Awareness Day, Holiday Events, Health & Wellness Classes, Virtual Camp and much more!

CHD Programs Staff are continuously brainstorming new & exciting day events for our families. We welcome any volunteer who has a special skill or talent they would like to share with at one of our day events.

03 Special Events Volunteer

For any volunteer who has an interest in fundraising for a great cause and having fun while doing it!

Our special events consist of the variety of fundraising events occurring throughout the year such as our annual Gala and various third-party fundraisers.

02 Overnight Programs Volunteer

Our overnight programs are great opportunities for any volunteer who is interested in gaining a full CHD experience! These programs range from one night to a full week of Camp.

Some examples of our overnight programs include: 2 Family Weekends (Spring & Fall), 2 Extreme Teen Weekends (Spring & Fall), Pre-Teen Lock In (Spring), and of course our flagship program, weeklong summer camp that is hosted over the week of fourth of July at Camp Bob Cooper.
